A Talk on Accreditation of Engineering Programs Was Held at Our Faculty

Our faculty has taken another important step to enhance the quality of education and strengthen its recognition at the national/international level. To raise awareness about the accreditation process of the Engineering and Architecture programs within our faculty, a talk was organized with the participation of our faculty members and students, coordinated by our Faculty Dean's Office, Hazerfan Community, and our Mechanical Engineering department. The talk, which started with the opening speeches of our faculty dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet UYUMAZ and continued with the moderation of our dean, addressed the importance of accreditation in Engineering programs.   

In the talk conducted by Prof. Dr. Tuncay Döğeroğlu, who is one of the leading figures in our country in the field of engineering education and higher education policies and also a member of the Presidential Board of Education and Training Policies, the reasons why engineering programs should be accredited, the contributions of accreditation, and the importance of this process for faculty members were discussed in detail. 

In the talk, Döğeroğlu emphasized that the active participation of our faculty members in the accreditation process plays a critical role in the success of accreditation and reminded the responsibilities of faculty members in updating course contents, adopting an outcome-based education approach, and establishing a culture of continuous improvement.

In the second part of the talk, questions regarding the preparation of the self-evaluation report related to the accreditation process and the role of faculty members in this process were answered. The talk, which was conducted efficiently, concluded with closing speeches and good wishes and sentiments.
